This project is a cross-discipline lesson that combines Math, English, History, and Family and Consumer Science. For this project, students will plan and create a proposal bid for the 2014 World’s Fair. They will have to include a menu, a main attraction dealing with technology, maps, and a financial plan. The students goal should be to have the best venue, building design, and prices. They will be competing against their classmates, in groups and it will be judged by the group of teachers. The objective is for students to learn how to plan, prepare, and create a formal bid for the World’s Fair. The students will also learn how to use the Library of Congress to do research. They will also gain communication skills and presentation skills. The project will be assessed based on the rubric.
